Privacy policy

This page explains what Lebanon Cinema collects and how it is used. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

• If you don’t have an account: nothing is asked of you to browse showtimes, films and news. The site stores one cookie to remember your language.
• When you create an account: your email address, display name and a hashed password (we never keep the original), plus your IP address at sign-up to prevent abuse.
• What you do on the site: your watchlist, ratings and reviews, any directory profile or job post you publish, and your rentals.
• Newsletter: your email address and preferred language, if you subscribe.
• Contact messages: the name, email and message you send us.

What is public

Your display name, your reviews and ratings, and any directory profile or job post you publish once an editor approves it. Your email address is shown on your directory profile only if you choose that. Your watchlist is private.

Payments

When you rent a film you are sent to Stripe’s own payment page. Your card details never reach this site and we do not store them. We keep only the rental record: the film, the amount and the date.

How we use it

To run your account, send password reset emails, show what you choose to publish, answer your messages, send the newsletter to people who subscribed, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Who handles data for us

Our web host, our email provider, Stripe for payments, and the video host for films available to watch. They use your data only to provide those services.

How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is open. Password reset links expire after an hour. You can delete your account at any time under Settings, which removes your watchlist, reviews, profile and posts with it. Contact messages are deleted once dealt with.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how it is used, and unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in every email. Use the Contact us page for any request.

Cookies

Only the necessary ones: your sign-in session, form protection and your language choice. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
